This blog is aimed at anyone interested in Campers & Motorhoming, VW Van conversions, and those camping with a family.
We are a family of three, soon to be four, living in the North East of England, and as we are (as of yet!) no experts, we thought we would share our experiences of camper van living as we go. We hope you enjoy having a read.
We’ve always enjoyed camping together. I spent all my childhood holidays in a caravan in the Yorkshire Dales or under canvas in Cornwall, and Mr. LoD is a keen outdoors-man, so getting back to basics is something we’re comfortable with. In fact, we suspect that being able to relish the simple, little things in life is what it’s all about.
Our love affair with Campers started with the nostalgic idea of a vintage VW bus, but as neither of us know our cam-belts from our lug-nuts, we thought something modern would be best for us. After considering various vans, Mr.LoD settled on a 2010 T5 Transporter which we had converted locally before we started our van life adventures in earnest.
Gwyn the Camper is named after hubby’s mum, who is sadly no longer with us, so we dedicate all our happy times on the road to her.
